Dear all members of the
Lasallian Family in Vietnam,
In the warm joyful
atmosphere of the 5th Lasallian ReUNI0N today, firstly, on behalf of
the District of Vietnam, I would like to congratulate and thank you for coming
and sharing the joy with our former students on the Alumni ReUNI0N Day in the Jubilee Year which we are celebrating the 150th
Anniversary of the Lasallian Presence in Vietnam.
Especially, we welcome His
Eminence Cardinal Peter Nguyen Van Nhon, an alumnus of La Salle Adran School,
who is here with us.
It is our great
pleasure and honor, on this occasion, to welcome Brother Robert Schieler, Superior General; Brother Ricky Laguda, General
Jean-Paul Aleth, Visitor of France; Brother Joel Palud,
Auxiliary Visitor of France; Brothers Dennis Magbanua,
Ray Suplido and Martin from the Philippines. Thank you for coming and praying
for our Vietnamese Lasallian family.
Secondly, we would like
to express ourdeepestgratitudeto
the Church of Vietnam for receiving and supporting us on our journey of
education for the young and the poor over the last 150 years.
like to thank the Superior Generals, the French Missionary Brothers and the
District of France, the American, Australian and Filipino Brothers, who have beenwholeheartedly supporting us in building, consolidating and developing
our District, in particular during hard times.
thanks go to the members of the LiaisonCommittee of the Vietnamese Lasallian
Alumni Association for having been side by side with the District in recent
years, taking the initiative in holding the Alumni ReUNI0N Day so
that we have a chance to meet and support one another through resource sharing, friendship and prayer.
I would also like to express mythanksto the OrganizingCommittee of this 5th Lasallian
ReUNI0N. All of you, with the theme of “Together
and by Association”, want to support the
District and its communities in the Lasallian educational mission, especially
for the poor, by practical actions.
