Brothers and teachers gave food in three days to about 100 families. Each family got 10 kg of rice and 10 packages of cereal.
Brothers and teachers of the La Salle Tan
Hung charity school started giving rice to parents of the students April 20.
For safety purposes, they planned to have this charity in a few days. Each day,
they gathered about 10 to 15 parents they had arranged. According to Brother
Anthony Tung, a school leader, this activity is supported by a number of
friendly donors of the Brothers.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the
La Salle Tan Hung charity school. It recently served about 150 students who
could not attend any school due to their family economic difficulties. Parents
are mainly from rural areas moving to Ho Chi Minh City and living in very poor
conditions. Losing jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic presents a huge
challenge to the daily lives of their families. Providing them with some food
at the moment will be really helpful.
