According to the spirit of our Founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, the
Lasallians all around the world, are actively involved in supporting the poor
and vulnerable people.
Also in Cambodia,
during the Founder day, on the 7th of April, 2020, in La Salle Pouthum School, the Brothers,
Lasallian Sisters and teachers helped, with food and supplies, people infected
by the coronavirus pandemic and those in need in the surrounding area.
visited 34 families in Pouthum Village to give them a simple gift including one
noodle box and a bag of 10kg rice. Some families they visited are parents of
their students in La Salle Pouthum school. These families are poor and they
temporarily leave their job because of the corona-virus pandemic. The simple
gift they received is really helpful during this difficult time.
among poor people in the village of Pouthum, the Brothers try their best to
support them, not only providing food for their urgent need when they face
difficulty like this time. The important support that the Brothers do for them
in this poor village is providing their children free education. It is a kind
of hope building that the Brothers are doing around the world. The Brothers
have welcomed about 250 students each school year to La Salle Pouthum School.
The number will gradually increase by next few years. It is really a great gift
that the Brothers can do for them day by day in this village.
forward to next days, Brother Joseph Anh, a principal of La Salle Pouthum
School said. We are now calling for generous donations among Lasallians and
friends in Cambodia in order to have something to give to poor families. He
said that we can do a small thing in our humble hand to share with people in
this poor village. Feeling with their suffering and being with them are
something that are not less important these days.
